Bloons TD 6 advertises itself as a cute tower defense game for kids to love. The adorable monkeys, the brightly-colored balloons, and the lively maps all give players the impression that victory should be a relatively fun and easy process.

Beating the game's hardest modes requires a level of placement precision and resource management that other tower defense games balk at. For players hoping to complete all of the achievements on the toughest maps, they'll require the services of only the best heroes in Bloons TD 6. And some of those heroes just plain aren't worth the cash it takes to unlock them.

With new updates bringing custom maps, all kinds of boss events, and new paragons to the table, players are finding difficulties in choosing the best hero for each situation. There are many possibilities faced throughout the game with so many types of challenges and events available, so players need to explore the abilities of every hero carefully. With a new hero having entered the fray and others being updated and changed constantly in their strengths and weaknesses, it is likely that this article will be updated frequently as new developments occur.

15 Ezili

Voodoo Monkey

• Curses Bloons With Voodoo Power
• Gains Sacrificial Totem & MOAB Hex Abilities

To start with the obvious, Ezili requires sacrifices, and this makes her unusable on many maps with high difficulty. Her lack of availability isn't helpful. Furthermore, she can curse MOABs, but there are heroes who can instantly kill MOABs and do even more in terms of support. Ultimately, the tough break for Ezili is that, unlike other heroes at the bottom of the list, it's tough to envision a situation in which she shines above anyone else.

14 Admiral Brickell

Naval Commander

• Buffs Other Water Monkeys
• Gains Blast Chain & Mega Mine Abilities

The first weakness for Admiral Brickell is a fairly steep one; she has to be placed in water. If the water is non-existent or in a bad place, then she's useless. This used to be compensated for by being well above average when in play. Unfortunately, her nerfs make her tough to recommend, even on maps that are almost entirely water.

13 Captain Churchill

• Powerhouse Of Bloon Popping
• Gains Armor Piercing Shell & MOAB Barrage Abilities

There are two major downsides to Captain Churchill. First is that he requires a map that has a long, straight line and these are extremely rare as maps get more complicated.

The second issue is that he's pricy. His damage is actually very good, but when weighing investment costs, gamers will likely find they get more out of upgrading towers unless they're in one of those straight-line map situations.

12 Quincy

• Gains Rapid Shot & Storm Of Arrow Abilities

Many heroes on the bottom part of this list are great later on but struggle early. Quincy is exactly the opposite. He's one of the best early heroes and gets camo targeting extremely early on. So, if players are struggling to get to wave ten, Give Quincy a spin. Unfortunately, he falls into the average category rather quickly and becomes negligible in the late game.

11 Gwendolin

• Gains co*cktail Of Fire & Firestorm Abilities

As a leaderboard topper soon after Bloons TD 6 was released, Gwendolin has obviously taken a bit of a tumble. However, what made her special is still there. Placed up front, she can put damage over time effects on the opposition. In very late-game scenarios, her damage increases exponentially from this. With a few levels, she can support nearby towers to help her do what she does. On maps that seem simple until the final few waves, she can still be of some assistance.

10 Striker Jones

Artillery Commander

• Helps Other Bombers Attack Faster
• Gains Concussive Shell & Artillery Command Abilities

Striker Jones has a pretty nice transition from early to late game, even though few would argue he's the best in either other. He's got some great area damage early and then can be used to buff Mortar Towers and Bomb Shooters later.

These are popular towers to use, so he might receive more love from these gamers, but others who take care of groups using different towers will find Jones to be about useless after wave 30.

9 Pat Fusty

Giant Monkey

• Uses Bare Hands To Attack Bloons
• Gains Rallying Roar & Big Squeeze Abilities

Gamers who want their towers to be the focal point will like that Pat Fusty brings support to the table. As a hero himself, he's a bit underwhelming. But as a support unit, he's tough to beat and might be the best hero depending on the player's tower preference situation. He can be placed on land or water in addition to instantly killing MOAB targets.

8 Etienne

Drone Operator

• Gains Drone Swarm & UCAV Abilities

Etienne is a hero that goes from kinda bad to really awesome at level ten when he unlocks the UCAV that can fly all over the map. He can also make it so every tower can see camo balloons, simplifying the strategy for gamers who don't want to bury money just in handling these nasty opponents.

7 Psi

Psionic Monkey

• Destroys Bloons From The Inside Out
• Gains Psychic Blast & Psionic Scream Abilities

At early levels, Psi is like a weak sniper tower. He's slower, but his range is limitless, and he can strike down camo balloons. But gamers who have invested in the right Monkey Knowledge and purchased his upgrades will be well-rewarded.

With the click of a button, he can destroy everything on the map. Experts who can cover the earlier waves will find that Psi can be the hero that beats those maps that throw out almost impossible waves.

Forest Guardian

• Buffs Druids & Stops Bloons
• Gains Brambles & Wall Of Trees Abilities

With new balances, the Druid tower strategy is still great for some maps but no longer the automatic win that it once was. Since this tactic is required for Obyn Greenfoot to optimally, he's been knocked off of his throne a bit. He's still great, and although he's not used in beginner-friendly strategies, some maps are still best tackled by Druids, and therefore the game still has a place for Obyn.

5 Benjamin

• Gains Biohack & Siphon Funding Abilities

For a while, Benjamin was the worst hero in the game. Although he gave players money, his debuff against enemies caused them to yield less cash when destroyed. With one change that now doubled instead of reducing the cash, he suddenly became a top-tier hero. So long as players keep a steady dose of experience coming in, Benjamin will give gamers more than enough cash to handle the game's toughest challenges.

4 Sauda

Swordmaster

• Slashes Bloons With Ease
• Gains Leaping Sword & Sword Charge Abilities

Sauda gets the distinction of being the highest-damage hero in the game. Her range is puny, so she was often passed up on, but recent buffs have escalated her already extreme damage and given her the ability to deal damage to whole lanes.

If somebody needs a carry so they can farm bananas, Sauda can potentially handle all of these duties until level 30 or 40, so long as she's got a nice position next to a U-turn.

3 Adora

• Gains Long Arm Of Light & Ball Of Light Abilities

As other heroes have to choose a lane to lockdown or a lane to be placed in, Adora is good at firing off shots that cover the entire map. The best maps in the game will often try to trip gamers up by having surprise opponents show up from someplace new. But Adora doesn't sweat these sorts of issues. Her attacks also chain similar to the Ninja Monkey, so thinking of her attacks as a limitless Ninja Monkey gives players a good idea of why she's rated so highly.

2 Geraldo

Geraldo was immediately the best hero in the game when he arrived and continues to be the best hero in the game even after a series of patches. The reason behind this is simple: gamers can purchase whatever they need to take out a given wave, so he's got no weakness to exploit. The best towers will certainly help him out but even they can sometimes be secondary to Geraldo's ability to do everything himself.

1 Corvus

Spirit Walker

• Gains Soul Harvest, Spirit Walk & Dark Ritual Abilities

The newest and best hero in the game is Corvus, the Spirit Walker. This brand-new hero has made waves since arriving on the scene, filled with a variety of different abilities that he can enact, which take mana, which he constantly gains from popped bloons.

From being able to gain levels from mana to sending his spirits bounding across the track and constantly eliminating bloons, Corvus can deal with all manner of situations if players get to grips with him and make the best possible use of his many abilities, turning him from an unknown quantity into the best hero in Bloons.
